Unfortunately, Headlice is a quite common and inconvenient norm among school children. Once it occurs, all family members will need to check their scalp and apply treatment if necessary.

According to the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU) 10 per cent of children between the age of four and 16 will have head lice – hence the regular school emails.

At Leech Pharmacy in Ranelagh, we carry several treatments and would be very happy to give you advice on their application. The treatments are very effective, but it is very important to follow their instructions exactly and to review after the recommended time (usually 7 days) and reapply if necessary as some eggs may not have been caught in the initial treatment.
